Privacy
What we store, and how to ask us to delete it.
Who runs this
The person running Mean Pinball is in the Northwest Territories, Canada. The Northwest Territories has no privacy law of its own for private businesses, so the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) is the privacy law that applies to this site's commercial activity. This page describes what the site does. It is not a claim that the site meets PIPEDA.
SteamID
Sign-in is optional. It happens on Steam's own sign-in page. We store the public SteamID that Steam sends back, plus the display name Steam gives us when we refresh your library. We never ask for, see, or store a Steam password. The sign-in cookie holds that SteamID and a token that blocks fake form posts. It lasts about 30 days. There is no separate Mean Pinball account.
Library data
If you sign in or paste a public profile and ask for recommendations, we ask Steam for your public library (the games you own and how long you have played) and, when Steam shows it, your public wishlist. We keep those so we can rank deals. Opening a shop link does not read your library.
Cookies
- Sign-in cookie: your SteamID and a form-protection token, after you sign in. About 30 days. Scripts on the page cannot read it.
- Region cookie (
dr_region): the store region you picked, such as Canada. About 400 days. - Click cookie (
dr_click): a random value we use to count shop clicks without saving your SteamID or IP address. About 400 days. Scripts on the page cannot read it.
Feedback you give while signed out stays in this browser's own storage until you clear it.
Click logs
Following a shop button can save the shop name, the game, the page you were on, an anonymous code, and the time. That line does not contain your SteamID or your IP address. We cannot turn the code back into you.
What we keep
Your signed-in library, picks, ratings, watchlist, rules, alerts, a Discord id if you linked one, and signed-in feedback stay until you delete them. Nothing on the site deletes those on a timer. Click logs stay until we delete them. A click is not tied to a SteamID, so deleting your account does not remove click logs, and we cannot pick out your clicks from the code alone.
Your data is stored in the United States.
While you are signed in, Settings has a delete button. Typing DELETE removes what we stored for that SteamID and clears the feedback saved in this browser, so the next sign-in does not send it again. To ask for anything that delete does not cover, including the click log, email hello@meanpinball.com. Say what you want removed. We can delete the whole click log. We cannot look up one person in it.
Questions: hello@meanpinball.com.

Delete saved data
Deleting saved data needs a Steam sign-in. Personalize with Steam first if you asked us to keep a library. Clearing this browser works without signing in.
